CHAFFEE -- A memorial service for E.C. "Eddie" Reeve of Springfield was held Nov. 8 at Brentwood Christian Church. Burial was in Springfield National Cemetery, with Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Reeve, 63, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1993, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

He was born May 9, 1930, in Black Rock, Ark., son of Roy F. and Daphine Reeve.

Reeve was employed by Frisco Railroad 39 years, retiring as assistant superintendent of transportation. He was chief dispatcher with the railroad in Chaffee from December 1955 to October 1958.

He was chief dispatcher for the Korean Railroad in Pusan during the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army Railroad Battalion.

Reeve was a member of the Selective Service Board from 1981-90. During 1992 he was a railroad operating practices inspector with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration.

Survivors include his wife, LaDonne; two daughters, Kay Reeve and Ronni Key; his mother, all of Springfield; two sisters, Rosalie Reeve of Springfield, Virginia Moore of Charlotte, N.C., and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
