SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ernest Chester Oldham, 86, of Sikeston died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 20, 1914, at Morley, Mo., son of Alfred Andrew and Iva Elizabeth Thompson Oldham. He married Claybelle Oldham, who preceded him in death.
Oldham had been a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, owned a residential construction company in the 1950s, was a postal contractor in the 1960s, and lived in Malden, Mo., where he owned a restaurant. He was a member of Malden United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Bess of Sikeston; two sisters, Alfreda Brashears of Sikeston, Rozella Lovelace of Paducah, Ky.; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be held at the chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Harold Norton will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
