Earline Jenkins Crawford, 70, of Chicago, formerly of Wilson City, died Dec. 3, 1996, at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Ill.
She was born May 10, 1926 in Liberty, Miss., to the late Mary and Rendy Jenkins. She was a member of Sanders Chapel AME Church in Wyatt. She married William Crawford on Aug. 13, 1957, in Bell City, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1983.
She is survived by five daughters, Mary Doyle and Helen Rhone, both of Chicago, Linda White and Brenda Townes, of Cleveland, and Arie L. Crawford, of Jefferson City; eight sons, Willie Oscar Brown Jr., Robert Crawford and Earnest Crawford, all of Chicago, William Crawford, of St. Louis, David L. Crawford, of Columbus, Ohio, Will Davis, of Wilson City, Jewell Crawford, of Germany, and Hardy Crawford, of Jefferson City; five sisters, Juanita Lewis, Johnnie Mae Jenkins, Alice Wallace and Margaret Newell, all of Chicago, and Minnie Applewhite, of Sikeston; two brothers, Jewell Jenkins and Moses Jenkins, of Chicago; 40 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers and one son.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Haven Church of God in Christ in Wilson City with Elder Courtney Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
