SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Earl Thomas Clayton of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Wissman will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 3 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus service at 7:30.

Clayton, 86, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 25, 1906, at Rolla, son of Charles M. and Lilly Pryor Clayton. He and Erma Frances Pfefferkorn were married Aug. 23, 1932, at Valley Park. She died Oct. 21, 1988.

Clayton had been a carpenter, and was a member of St. Joseph Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Clayton of Fenton, James Clayton of Scott City; two daughters, Rita Ostendorf and Darlene Sample of Scott City; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and eight sisters.
