PERRYVILLE -- Earl J. Schnurbusch, 76, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 9, 1921, at Apple Creek, the son of William G. and Emma D. Zoellner Schnurbusch.

He married Vera B. Funcheon on July 12, 1941, at Perryville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He had been a cook at Menard Correctional Institution at Chester, Ill., until his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the American Legion in Perryville.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Harold Schnurbusch of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Beulah A. Winkler and Ada Trapp, both of Perryville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with a parish wake service at 7 and an American Legion service at 7:20.

Visitation will also be from 6:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
