ST. MARYS -- Earl James Geile, 88, of St. Marys died Monday, June 28, 1999, at Riverview Manor in Ste. Genevieve.
He was born Oct. 7, 1910, at Silver Lake, son of Theodore and Alice French Geile. He and Hester Mae Coffelt were married July 11, 1935. She died April 6, 1987.
Geile was a retired auto mechanic. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake.
He is survived by three sons, James, Donald and Ronald Geile of Perryville; five daughters, Hester Kline of St. Marys, Dorothy Hotop of Biehle, Norma Waller of Perryville, Judith Amschler of St. Charles and Cozy Scherer of Ste. Genevieve.
Also surviving are two brothers, Howard Geile of Perryville, Glennon Geile of Weingarten; a sister, Dora Hudson of Perryville; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a great-step-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30 to 10:20 a.m. The wake will be at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
