CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Earl "Kayo" Dooley, 79, of Chaffee died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Micola, Mo., son of Roy C. and Lucy Madge Holdman Dooley. He married Marie Hitt Feb. 10, 1949, in Piggott, Ark.
Dooley was a self-employed farmer. He was in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in the China Burma Theatre. He also served in the Army in the Korean War.
He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Dave White of Chaffee, Nancy and Larry Glueck of Blomeyer, Mo., Janie Dooley of the home; a brother, Ted Dooley of St. Mary's, Ga.; four grandchildren and spouses, David White of Chaffee, Mitchell and Amy White of Arbor, Mo., Grayson and Tammy Glueck of Chaffee, Erin Glueck of Chaffee; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Shelby and Lara White, Austin, Cameron and Colton White, Grayson Glueck Jr. and Brayden Glueck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a grandson, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. J.D. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau with full military rites.
