CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Earl "Kayo" Dooley, 79, of Chaffee died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Micola, Mo., the son of Roy C. and Lucy Madge Holdman Dooley. He married Marie Hitt on Feb. 10, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.
He was a self-employed farmer. He was in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving in the China Burma Theatre. He also served in the Army in the Korean War.
He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.
He also is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Dave White of Chaffee, Nancy and Larry Glueck of Blomeyer, Mo., and Janie Dooley of the home; a brother, Ted Dooley of St. Mary's, Ga.; four grandchildren and their spouses, David White of Chaffee, Mitchell and Amy White of Arbor, Mo., Grayson and Tammy Glueck of Chaffee, and Erin Glueck of Chaffee; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Shelby and Lara White, Austin, Cameron and Colton White, Grayson Glueck Jr. and Braden Glueck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a grandson, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel with the Rev. J.D. Davis officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military rites.
