NEW HAMBURG -- Earl Arthur Dirnberger, 81, of New Hamburg died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 27, 1917, at Oran, son of Joseph and Mamie Scherer Dirnberger. He and Henrietta Kluesner were married June 21, 1947, at New Hamburg.
Dirnberger was a carpenter. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and its St. Joseph Sodality. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Henry and Kenny Dirnberger of Benton, Herbie Dirnberger of New Hamburg; two daughters, Earline Lowes of Benton, Debbie Curry of Kelso; a brother, Vincent Dirnberger of New Hamburg; a sister, Georgia Dannenmueller of Scott City; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 5 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
