Earl Haman Davis, 85, 709 Albert, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at his home.
He was born April 6, 1912, at Commerce, son of Samuel W. and Rosa Haman Davis. He and Velma B. Sprenger were married April 9, 1939, at Illmo.
Davis was a dock worker with ABF Trucking Co. more than 20 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, and VFW Post 3838.
He had been a coach and manager of Little League teams in Cape Girardeau. He was a tank driver with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Davis of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Ralph and Leo Davis of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Juanita DeMott of Pottersville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. David V. Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3838.
