EAST PRAIRIE -- Earl Cartwright, 74, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, at his home.
He was born May 16, 1921, in Mayfield, Ky., son of James Thaxton and Maude Story Cartwright. He and Peggy Cripps were married Sept. 23, 1939.
Cartwright was a retired carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Ronald, Ray, Bob, Billy, Fred and James Cartwright, all of East Prairie, Mike Cartwright of Matthews; three daughters, Joyce Page and Kathy Paro of East Prairie, Judy Bailey of Mayfield; a sister, Pearl McDowell of Poplar Bluff; a half brother, Curtis Porter of Jefferson City; 27 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half sister and half brother.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Mike Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
