Earl Buchheit, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at Lutheran Home.
He was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Perryville, Missouri, to Theodore and Edna Meyer Buchheit. Earl and Dorothy Schnurbusch were married Aug. 10, 1957, at Apple Creek, Missouri.
He was a graduate of St. Vincent High School in 1955.
He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957.
He worked at Auto Tire and Parts for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Buchheit of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mary (Todd) Beussink of Jackson, Glenda (Stan) Irwin of Cape Girardeau and Diane Shipman of Jackson; son, Tim (LaRonda) Buchheit of Sikeston, Missouri; guardian of Richard Baer of Old Appleton; sister, Stella Moore of Minnesota; brothers, Clarence Buchheit of Perryville, Kenny Buchheit of Apple Creek and Ronnie Buchheit of Wentzville, Missouri; grandchildren, Amanda (Chad) McCormick and Tyler (Sarah) Beussink, both of Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Paige Balsman, Brooke Balsman, Wyatt McCormick, Maddy Smith, Cayden Chavez, Lane Beussink and Reagan Beussink, all of Jackson.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry and Allen Buchheit.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Missouri Veterans Home.
