DEXTER -- Funeral for Earl Bledsoe of Dexter will be held at 11 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Dale Grissom will officiate. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
Bledsoe, 81, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1917, at Essex, son of Hugh and Addie Clayton Bledsoe. He first married Ruth Gaines, who preceded him in death. He and Margaret Bledsoe were married in 1966 in Dundee, Ill. She died July 2, 1997.
Bledsoe had worked on the railroad, at Gibson Lime Co., and Kinder Excavating. He lived at Dexter many years and was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the Civil Conservation Corps.
Survivors include a daughter, Sissy Davison of Alexandria, La.; a stepson, Leroy Cameron of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Remble Bledsoe of Advance, Jay and Robie Bledsoe of Dexter; a sister, Margie Anthony of Dexter; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
