E. Charles Geittmann, 71, 1333 Copper Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 6, 1924, in Beaver Dam, Wis., son of Elmer Theodore and Leona Allen Geittmann. He had lived in Cairo, Ill., and then moved to Metropolis, Ill. He married the former Carolyn Lutton Crain.
Geittmann attended Oklahoma A&M, Southern Illinois University, and Lincoln College of Law.
He practiced law in Metropolis 35 years, and was currently associated with Patrick Davis, PC. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rick Geittmann of Lacey, Wash.; a daughter, Jodi Geittmann of Little Rock, Ark.; two stepsons, Steve and Jeff Crain of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Lorraine Geittmann of Redondo Beach, Calif.; a brother, John Geittmann of Marion, Ill., and five stepgranddaughters.
Friends may call at the family home from 5-7 p.m. today, and Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. The rosary will be at 7, with the Rev. Joseph Trapp officiating.
Burial will be private.
