PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- R. Dwight Smith, 90, of Perryville died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 9, 1910, at Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Rosewell and Tava Statler Smith. He and Golda M. Propst were married July 26, 1930.
Smith retired as a jet engine mechanic with Sabreliner. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Moolah Shrine Temple, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 238, Retired Teamsters, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and past master of Saline Lodge 226 A.F.A.N.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty Stortz of Perryville, Glenda Stockwell of Chester, Ill.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a great-grandson.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Saturday after 6:30 a.m. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas Bass will officiate. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
