Dwight E. Richmond, a resident of Bell City, was born October 13, 1921 in Mesler, Mo., and passed away September 13, 1998 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 76 years. He was the son of the late Otto Richmond and Iva Mae Surlet-Richmond.

Mr. Richmond as a retired farmer. He was a charter member of the Dexter Elks Club and served in the capacity of Secretary, Trustee, Exalted Ruler, and also District Deputy to the Grand Lodge. Dwight was also active in community affairs, serving on the FHA Loan Approval Board three years and the Bell City School Board for nine years. He was treasurer of the Pleasant Hill Preservation Assoc. for three years and received the Missouri Farmer of the Year Award for Stoddard County in 1980.

Dwight Richmond and Marilyn Ladore Sneed were married on August 9, 1941 in Oran, and she survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Dwight Stephen Richmond of Bell City; one daughter, Sherry Ann Wright of Troy, Mich.; one brother, Herbert Richmond of Winter Park, Fla.; one sister, Juanita Thompson of Fairfax, Va.; two granddaughters, DeAnn Dennis of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and Cindy Cascioli of Davisburg, Mich.; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 pm Tuesday the the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 16, 1998, at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, the Rev. James Brice officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City, Mo.
