Dwight H. Barker, 99, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sunday, Feb. 25, 1917, in Greene County, Indiana, to Elza and Margaret York Barker. He and Evelyn Marie Hinkle were married Friday, Aug. 1, 1959, at Cape Girardeau. She passed away Dec. 18, 2015...

Dwight H. Barker, 99, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sunday, Feb. 25, 1917, in Greene County, Indiana, to Elza and Margaret York Barker.

He and Evelyn Marie Hinkle were married Friday, Aug. 1, 1959, at Cape Girardeau. She passed away Dec. 18, 2015.

He was a member of First General Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He was a life member of VFW Post 3838.

Dwight was a member and past Master of Harold O. Grauel #672, member and past president of High 12 International and member of Moolah Shrine of St. Louis and local Shrine Club. He was a member of St. Louis Scottish Rite and past president of local Capaha Scottish Rite Club, past associate guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel #51 and member and past patron of Cape Rock Chapter #60 O.E.S.

Dwight was former district manager of Speed Queen Washer Co. and was in the sales department of Campbell Mattress Co. of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his children, stepchildren and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, two sisters and two brothers.

Private services were held Sunday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
