Dwight Aaron Dodson, 84, died Saturday, July 27, 1996, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 7, 1912, son of Era C. and Ann Busche Dodson. He married Virginia Lee Langston Sept. 7, 1942, in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death.

Dodson was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a medic. He was a prisoner of war.

Later, he was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church for nearly 75 years, serving on many boards in the church. He was a service officer in Disabled American Veterans and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Survivors include a son, Robert L. Dodson, and a daughter, Nancy Duschell, both of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel, with Dr. Larry Gallamore officiating.

Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Military service will be conducted by VFW Post 3383 at the cemetery.
