DONIPHAN -- Duncan Hale, 87, of Doniphan, and formerly of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at Fairdealing.
He was born Aug. 17, 1911, at Morrilton, Ark., to James and Ada Stone Hale.
On Oct. 24, 1931, he married Mary Myrtle Bailey, who died May 15, 1986.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Doniphan.
Survivors include six sons, Tom Hale and Donnie Hale, both of East Prairie, Roy Hale of Dexter, Harold Hale of Brownwood, and Marion Hale and Frankie Hale, both of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Margaret Bailey of Fairdealing and Martha Richmond of Longview, Texas; four brothers, Bertie Hale of East Prairie, Clev Hale of Dardanelle, Ark., Lowell Hale of Pekin, Ill., and Eugene Hale of Morristown, Tenn.; two sisters, Pauline Cooper of St. James, Gertie Bridges of East Prairie; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
A son preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 5:30 p.m. today and Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
