OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Dr. William E. Lipsey, 79, of Olive Branch, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born May 1, 1916, in Zeigler, son of Roscoe and Nellie Brown Lipsey. He and Maxine Manering were married Aug. 6, 1947.
Lipsey received a doctorate from Northwest University. His career in education spanned 55 years. He taught in Zeigler and Anna District 37, at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Northwest University Demonstrators School, and had been a dean at Western Illinois University.
He formerly owned Lost Acres Fishing Camp at Olive Branch, and attended Lake Milligan Baptist Church in Miller City.
Survivors include his wife and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kenneth Wilson and Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Mulkeytown Cemetery at Mulkeytown.
