The funeral for Dr. Mohammad Shakil, his wife Farida, sons Usman and Hassan, and daughters Sabeen and Rabiya of Cape Girardeau, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Osage Community Centre. Burial will be in Our Redeemer Cemetery in St. Louis. Visitation will be at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday...

The funeral for Dr. Mohammad Shakil, his wife Farida, sons Usman and Hassan, and daughters Sabeen and Rabiya of Cape Girardeau, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Osage Community Centre. Burial will be in Our Redeemer Cemetery in St. Louis.

Visitation will be at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.

The family died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, in a plane crash near Paron, Ark.

Dr. Shakil, 52, was born July 14, 1950, in Hazara, Pakistan, son of Mohammad Ali and Rahim Noor. He and Farida Shakil were married in 1980.

He graduated from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, Pakistan, and did his residency in Michigan and in Memphis, Tenn. He was president and founder of the Islamic Center of Cape Girardeau. He was an associate clinical member of American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Association, honored member of Who's Who in Medical Health Services, member of Academy of Pain Management, Association of Pakistani Physicians, and Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation Million Dollar Club.

Survivors include his parents of Cape Girardeau and Pakistan; three brothers, Liaquat Ali Malik of Hillsboro, Mo., Shafiq Malik of Cape Girardeau, Mohammad Tariq of Lahore, Pakistan; two sisters, Bilquis Chaudhry of St. Louis and Tahira Malik of Lahore.

Mrs. Shakil, 50, was born April 4, 1952, in Pakistan, daughter of Muhammed Murad Ali Chohan and Khadija Begum.

She had completed a master's degree in education. She was a member of Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation Million Dollar Club.

Mrs. Shakil is survived by four brothers and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Usman Shakil, 16, was born April 9, 1986, in Pakistan.

He was in the 11th grade at Central High School.

Hassan Shakil, 14, was born Nov. 9, 1987, in Cape Girardeau.

He was in the ninth grade at Central High School.

Sabeen Shakil, 13, was born Feb. 27, 1989, in Cape Girardeau.

She was in the eighth grade at St. Mary's Cathedral School.

Rabiya Shakil, 11, was born May 12, 1991, in Cape Girardeau.

She was in the fifth grade at Central Middle School.

They were all members of the Islamic Center of Cape Girardeau.
