Marion "Doyle" Mouser, 94, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 15, 1927 in Zalma, Missouri, son of Hobert and Rosetta Davis Mouser. He and Mildred Snider were united in marriage on July 1, 1950; she passed away Sept. 23, 1983. He later married Mary Steelman Zarantonello on Nov. 3, 1984; she passed away May 15, 2019.
After graduating from Zalma High School, Doyle was inducted into the U.S. Army on Jan. 11, 1946, and was honorably discharged May 23, 1947.
After his military service, he lived in St. Louis. In 1962 he and Mildred moved the family to Jackson. After Mildred's passing and his marriage to Mary, they moved to Cape Girardeau.
Doyle worked as a manager for Russman Bus Company, managing the buses for Cape Girardeau School District. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed quail hunting, fishing and boating. In his spare time he could be found playing cards and spending time with his family.
He was a member of Mount Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau, Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge No. 672, Valley of St. Louis Scottish Rite, Cape Rock Chapter 60 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cape Girardeau American Legion and the Order of United Commercial Travelers of America.
Loving survivors include six children, Randy (Teresa) Mouser, Mark (Julie) Zarantonello, Teresa (Gary) Anderson, Debbie Huckabee, Butch (Valerie) Zarantonello and Mike (Kim) Zarantonello; nine grandchildren, Krista (Tyler) Birk, Ryan (Sarah) Mouser, Kelly (Kenny) Gardner, Jessica (Allan) Stone, Greg (Dani) Anderson, Tony Zarantonello, Shawna (Kevin) King, Molly Ingram and Harlie (Michael) Jennings.
Also surviving are 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Mildred and Mary; daughter, Gayla Mouser; and five siblings, Elwood, Wink, Dale, Dick and Delayne Mouser.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
A masonic reading will begin at 10:30 a.m. immediately followed by the funeral service on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Casey Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
