VIENNA, Ill. -- Doyle Adams, 78, of Vienna died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 30, 1918, in Cypress, son of W.T. and Elvina Gore Adams. He and Sylvia Dunn were married in 1945. She died in 1968. He and Marcella Bufford Webb were married in 1971.
Adams retired as a barber from the former Anna Mental Health Center. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandra Icenhower of Fairview Heights; a son, Greg Adams of Round Lake; two stepsons, Richard Webb of Tamms, Terry Webb of Omaha, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Karen Smithey of Nokesville, Va., Virginia Mowery of Anna; a brother, Leon Adams of Olive Branch; a sister, Faye Beggs of Buncombe; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a stepgrandson.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.
