CHAFFEE -- Dovie Williams, 79, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 18, 1996, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 1, 1917, in Higdon, Ark., to Calvin and Nellie Mae Mortan Williams. She married Dee Elgie Williams on Jan. 29, 1935. He died Nov. 13, 1980.
Williams was a Baptist and a member of the Chaffee R.S.V.P.
Survivors include six sons, Jay D. Williams of Chugiak, Alaska, Hardy Williams of North Fork, Calif., Hursel and Danny Joe Williams, both of Morley, Bobby Williams of Fresno, Calif., and Johnny Williams of Chehalis, Wash.; three daughters, Nellie Warren of Scott City, Carol Carlisle of Madera, Calif., and Sue Dennis of Chaffee; five sisters, Ruth Finch of Center Ridge, Ark., Ada Flowers and Nolan Bettis, both of Quitman, Ark., Maggie Johnson of Conway, Ark., and Bonnie Berry of Cooter, Ark.; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three grandchildren, a great-grandson and six brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating.
