MILLER CITY, Ill. -- Dovie Farris, 85, of Miller City died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1992, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

She was born Nov. 29, 1906, at Olive Branch, the daughter of Frank and Octavia Brown Denfip. In 1929, she married Samuel Farris, who preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1977.

She was a member of the Lake Milligan Baptist Church at Miller City and the Olive Branch Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jo Healey of Chicago; two sons, Ted Farris of Goreville and Don Farris of Miller City; three sisters, Ruth Murphy, Myrtle Denfip and Pauline Ambler, all of Olive Branch; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms are incomplete.
