Douglas Lee Stacy Sr., 74, of Jackson died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at his home.
He was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to Glenn Loomis and Catherine Louise Cauble Stacy. He and Marjorie Kay Smith were married Feb. 4, 1965, in Chaffee, Missouri.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a graduate of Baptist Bible College-Theology.
He was owner of Stacy's Carpets in Jackson for over 35 years.
His hobbies included fishing, NASCAR, hunting, reading and gathering with family and friends.
Survivors include sons, Douglas Lee Stacy Jr. and Shane Stacy; daughter, Sherry Lynn (Robert) Cheney; brothers, Gary Wade (Donna) Stacy Sr., Glenn Russell (Luda) Stacy and Keith Wayne (Patricia) Stacy; sisters, Nancy Louise Kuersten, Rosa Darlene Stacy and Madonna Kay (Dan) Novotany; grandchildren, Carlee Stacy, Michael (Amanda) Stacy, Steven Stacy, Shannon Stacy, John (Chelsea) Gilman, Ashley (Josh) Uchtman, David Gilman, Brittany (Josh) Gilman, Luke Gilman, Robert (Kami) Cheney Jr., Ryan (Brooke) Cheney, Stacy (Garrett) Ditch, Aaron (Megan) Cheney and Sean Cheney; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Marie Gilman; daughter-in-law, Penny Stacy; and brothers-in-law, William Kuersten and Charles Moran.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Alan Cheney Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
