Douglas Madderra, 68, of Cape Girardeau died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Jackson Manor.
He was born May 6, 1947, in Boston to Robert E. and Jessie L. Cook Koeppel. He married Gwendolyn Barton on Nov. 3, 1993.
Doug honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was wounded while serving in Vietnam.
For 27 years, he worked for ANCO Sign Co., based in North Carolina. He traveled across the country, building and installing signs.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Madderra; his children, Scott Madderra and Genna McCoy; three sisters, Pat Mungle, Brenda (Dave) Puchbauer and Robin (Andre) Payson; three brothers, Robert (Millie) E. Koeppel II, Alan Koeppel and Eddie (Sue) Koeppel; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Committal services with full military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
