DOUGLAS HAWTHORNE JR.

PERRYVILLE -- Funeral for Douglas R. Hawthorne Jr. of Perryville will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown. The Rev. Steve Francis will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 6:30 a.m. to noon.

Hawthorne, 18, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

A senior at Perryville High School, he was involved in an automobile accident on his way to school.

He was born Feb. 25, 1980, in St. Louis, son of Douglas and Georgia Garris Hawthorne Sr.

Hawthorne was a member of VICA at Perryville High School, and member of Bethlehem Church. He was a small engine mechanic at Perryville Oliver.

Survivors include his mother of Perryville; his father of Bonne Terre; three sisters, Dawn Difani, Bridget Deckerd, and Heather Hawthorne, all of Perryville.

He was preceded in death by grandparents.
