JACKSON -- Douglas "Doc" Sneathen, 74, of Gordonville, died Saturday, May 15, 1993, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 19, 1918, at St. Louis, son of Joe and Sophia Deneke Sneathen.
He was married to Edna Ueleke, Jan. 25, 1947 in Cape Girardeau.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army.
Sneathen was a truck driver for 35 years for the Ceramo Company in Jackson, retiring Jan. 1, 1985.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of Gordonville. He was also a member of Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 of the American Legion. He was also a member of VFW Post 1049 in Jackson. He was a member Excelsior Lodge 441 AF & AM of Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, William Sneathen of Cape Girardeau, Randy Sneathen of Jackson, Jeffery Sneathen of Gordonville; two daughters, Carol Ann Berman of Fenton, Mo., Cathy Sneathen of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Elmer "Bud" Sneathen of Ballwin, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. There will be a Masonic service today at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at Zion United Methodist Church, west of Gordonville, with the Rev. Tom Gross officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
