DEXTER, Mo. -- Doris "Dot" Marie Hess, 84, of Dexter passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Bell City, Missouri.
She was born Oct. 30, 1933, at Bell City, the daughter of John Howard and Inez Watts Abner.
Dot had been a cook with Bell City School District. Her hobbies including bowling and dancing.
Dot and Charles W. Hess were united in marriage in 1949, and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Survivors include three daughters, Dottie Sue Neldon of Painton, Missouri, and Mary Louise Witt and Kathy Ann Hess, both of Inberness, Florida; two brothers, Howard "Shotgun" Abner of Advance, Missouri, and Don Abner of Bell City; five sisters, June Jordan of Advance, Missouri, Virginia Niemczyk of Sikeston, Missouri, Sherry Barrick and Barbara Brown, both of Bell City, and Rhoda Burton of Bloomfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Garza officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri.
