Dortha Jean Dumas, 62, of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, July 3, 1995, at Ratliff Nursing Home.
She was born April 14, 1933, in Arlington, Ky., daughter of William and Ruby C. Berry Jordan. She and Doyle Dumas were married Aug. 1, 1953, in Paducah, Ky.
Dumas was a graduate of Reidland High School in Paducah, and 1968 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.
She taught more than 35 years at Nell Holcomb and Advance Schools, specializing in remedial education. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Missouri State Teachers Association.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin Dumas of Manchester, Joel Dumas of St. Louis; two daughters, Laura Musket of Foristell, Amy Colon of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Hilda Mohler of Nashville, Tenn., and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Dreyer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
