ANNA, Ill. -- Dorris C. "Junior" Adams, 78, of Anna died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 2, 1922, in Alto Pass, Ill., son of Clarence and Vera Lingle Adams. He and Imogene Sitter were married Nov. 8, 1946, in Metropolis, Ill.
Adams worked 37 years at Choate Mental Health and Development Center. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Dr. Karen Adams of Brooklyn, N.Y., Karen Skoffic of Carbondale, Ill., Debbie Schroeder of St. Louis, Lisa Hines of LaCrosse, Wis.; two sons, Larry and Robert Adams of Anna; a brother, Willard Adams of Metropolis; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, and a sister.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Norton officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
