LONGTOWN, Mo. -- Dorothy M. Ziegler, 96, formerly of Longtown, died Aug. 22, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 23, 1922 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, daughter of Frank X. and Olivia Roth Arnold. She and Milton K. "Bud" Ziegler were married March 4, 1946. He preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2005...

LONGTOWN, Mo. -- Dorothy M. Ziegler, 96, formerly of Longtown, died Aug. 22, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 23, 1922 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, daughter of Frank X. and Olivia Roth Arnold. She and Milton K. "Bud" Ziegler were married March 4, 1946. He preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2005.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Crosstown, Missouri. She was an avid quilter, gardener and cook.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Ken (Jan) Ziegler of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Ray (Carol) Ziegler of Ste. Genevieve and Ann (Gary) Sitzes of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ziegler of Fenton, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Frank Ziegler; three brothers, Bill, Buddy and Leon Arnold; and three sisters, Elvina Bahr, Louise Naeger and Ellen Siebert.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

She will then be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, Missouri, for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., officiating. Burial will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
