Dorothy Laverne Wiseman, 56, of Jackson, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born Sept. 17, 1947, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Ross and Roberta Weakley Conner Sr.

Formerly of Cape Girardeau, Wiseman was a graduate of Central High School and worked 23 years at Procter & Gamble.

She was a member of New St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn., and Princess Oziel Chapter 101 Order of Eastern Star, where she was a past matron and past treasurer.

Survivors include five daughters, Tamra Nunley of Cape Girardeau, Marthia Egson, Catrina Evans, Keisha and Shanice Wiseman, all of Jackson; three brothers, Ross Conner Jr. and Ronald Conner of Cape Girardeau, Eddie Conner of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Linda York of Indianapolis, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau from 10 a.m. to service time today.

The funeral will be at noon at the church, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Williams Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
