Dorothy G. Winters, 93, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at de Greeff Hospice House at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Ste. Genevieve, daughter of Joseph and Mary Spraul Grass. She and Bernard J. Winters Sr. were married May 5, 1941.
Survivors include eight children, Helen (Marvin) Moro of Fort Pierce, Fla., Mary Jane (Larry) Bahr of Ballwin, Mo., Bernard (Nancy) Winters Jr. of St. Louis, Kathleen (Tom) Berkbigler of Cape Girardeau, Wayne (Margaret) Winters of St. Louis, John (Susan) Winters of Ste. Genevieve, David (Joan) Winters of Manchester, Mo., and Paul (Ginger) Winters of Union, S.C.; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Winters Sr.; parents; a sister, Myrtle Black; two brothers, Louis and Albert Grass; four sisters, Alice Weiler, Irene Chitwood, Bertilla Artale and Estel Webb.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of Ste. Genevieve, with the Revs. Dennis Schmidt and Gerald Kleba officiating. Burial will be in Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.
