Dorothy H. Wagner, 83, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Lixville, Mo., daughter of Charles and Hilda Pickle Pohlmann. She married Nelson "Butch" Meyer on July 21, 1950. He passed away April 3, 1980. She and Kenneth Wagner were married Sept. 29, 1990. He passed away Nov. 10, 2008.
Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Mo., and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She was an active member of the Lutheran Women and Mission League, Lutheran Family and Children Services, and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 158 in Jackson. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill, the former Meyer Brothers Plumbing and Heating in Jackson and volunteered at Southeast Hospital for many years.
Loving survivors include two sons, Mike (Charlotte) Meyer of Destin, Fla., and Robert (Lori) Meyer of Jackson; two stepsons, Keith (Mary) Wagner and Kim (Wanda) Wagner; two brothers, Art (Joey) Pohlmann of Altus, Okla., and Eddie (Ginny) Pohlmann of St. Louis; a sister, Ann Niswonger of Jackson; a son-in-law, Richard Jaco of Whitewater; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a daughter, JoAnn Jaco.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Krohe officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or Southeast Hospital Foundation.
