CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dorothy Faye Smiley, 87, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 16, 1926, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John Marion and Minnie Christian Mallory. She and Robert Lester "Bob" Smiley were married Aug. 25, 1945. He preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1989...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dorothy Faye Smiley, 87, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 16, 1926, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John Marion and Minnie Christian Mallory. She and Robert Lester "Bob" Smiley were married Aug. 25, 1945. He preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1989.

Dorothy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church at Rockview, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Michael (Kathy) Smiley of Fredericktown, Mo., James Smiley and Gregory (Lisa) Smiley of Rockview; seven daughters, Glenda (Jay) Cassout of Scott City, Donna (Jake) Carlson of Lake Stevens, Wash., Susan (Kenny) Myers of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rita (David) Hicks of Rockview, Sharon (Doug) Hargrove of Chaffee, Sandy (Steve) Pirtle of Scott City and Janice (Mark) Eldridge of Scott City; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Church in Rockview, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating.
