Dorothy Lee Shuffit, 74, of Scott City died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at her home.
She was born April 16, 1934, at Commerce, Mo., daughter of John Franklin and Stella May Brummett Hale. She and James Paul Shuffit were married Feb. 24, 1951, in Piggott, Ark. He died Nov. 13, 1982.
Shuffit moved to Scott City 40 years ago from Sikeston, Mo.
Survivors include two sons, John and Mike Shuffit of Scott City; four daughters, Paula Menees and Verna Brashear of Scott City, Dorothy Clark of San Angelo, Texas, Rose Richardson of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Rosa Ulrich of Whitewater; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Clark officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
