CAIRO, Ill. -- Dorothy R. McCowen, 80, of Cairo died Monday, March 3, 1997, at the home of her daughter in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 14, 1916, in Madison, Ind., the daughter of William and Rosa Peddie. She was a member of the Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo.
She is survived by three daughters, Rose Mary Shepherd of Charleston, Ill., Judy Schott of Cape Girardeau and Nancy Joyner of Cairo; a son, Charles McCowen of Mound City, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be at the Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
