Dorothy Louise Neal, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 26, 1910, at Dexter, Mo., daughter of Louie H. and Bertha L. Smith Neal.

Miss Neal moved to Cape Girardeau in 1928 from Dexter. She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and received a master's degree in education from Columbia University in New York. She taught and was a principal in Cape Girardeau; taught in the Ladue School District; and Dependents School in Karlsruhe, Mannheim and Heidelberg, Germany. She retired in 1971 and returned to Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was active in Sunday School, and was a member of Missouri State Teachers Association. She had traveled extensively.

Survivors include a sister, Sara Moore of St. Louis; a niece, Marjorie Moore and husband Gary Dalton of Buffalo, Mo.; and a great-niece, Sarah Dalton of Buffalo.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Clayton Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dexter City Cemetery at Dexter.
