ELLSINORE -- Funeral for Dorothy Mae Montgomery of Ellsinore was held last week at McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren. The Rev. Garry Reagan officiated, with burial in Pine Lawn Cemetery at Ellsinore.
Montgomery, 76, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at The Cedargate.
She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Oran. She and Wilburn A. Montgomery were married Aug. 31, 1946, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He died Aug. 27, 1990.
Formerly of Sulphur Springs, Texas, she had lived in Carter County since 1970. She retired as a nurse at Riverways Manor Nursing Home, and served as a nursing home volunteer. Montgomery served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Edmond Montgomery of Huntsville, Texas, Daniel Montgomery of Chicago; a daughter, Dee Bone of Williamsville; a brother, Gerald Lyne of Delta; two sisters, Gladys Stewart of St. Louis, Zelma Nicholas of Delaware; and four grandchildren.
