Dorothy McIntyre

Dorothy I. McIntyre, 86, of Jackson passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at her home.

She was born March 2, 1927, in Scopus, Mo., daughter of Eng and Sully Angel James. She and Roy McIntyre were married Oct. 3, 1942. He passed away Oct. 19, 1997.

Dorothy was of the Pentecostal belief. She worked at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson and former Voorhes Greenhouse in Fruitland.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Joyce Kleimann of Jackson; four sons, Roy Lee McIntyre of Jackson, Larry McIntyre of Shawneetown, Bobby McIntyre of Jackson and Rick McIntyre of Daisy; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg King officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice.
