Dorothy E. Makins, 92, of Jackson passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at her home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Detroit, daughter of John E. and Julia May Lynchard Bolitho. She and Harold Edward Makins were married April 26, 1946, in Detroit. He passed away May 2, 2014.
Dorothy graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit in 1945. She and Harold moved from Detroit to Jackson in 1971. When her health permitted, she was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 91 in Jackson.
Loving survivors include a son, Daniel (Margaret) Makins of Jackson; daughter, Judy (Kathy) Makins of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Inurnment will be at a later date in Michigan.
