Dorothy Ann Loyd, 76, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 2, 1946, in Zalma, Missouri, daughter of Ray and Ruby "Bernice" Collins Loyd.
Dorothy worked for several years at the Bank of Advance (Missouri) before attending a business/secretarial school. She then began a new job with Jerry Lipps. Her final employment for several years until she retired was as a billing clerk with Plaza Tire Service. She supplemented her income as an Avon representative, following in the steps of her mother, Bernice.
She was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ and was well known among family and friends as an avid seamstress. She made almost all of her own clothes, sewed beautiful quilts and wall hangings, and was very generous in sharing her creations with friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ray and Bernice.
Dorothy is survived by several cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson. Inurnment will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, was in charge of the arrangements.
