JACKSON -- Dorothy L. Williams, age 75, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson. She was born Oct. 19, 1923, at Lutesville, Mo., daughter of Lewis and Georgia Proffer Barks. She married Weldon Williams Sept 19., 1942, at Crump, Mo., and he survives.
Mrs. Williams was employed by the International Shoe Factory in Jackson for 34 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson and a charter member of the Star Homemakers Club of Crump.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Larry G. Williams of Jackson; one sister, Naomi Thompson of Jackson; one granddaughter, Michelle "Shelly" Jorn and her husband Chris of Derby, Kan.; one great-grandson, Kyle Jorn of Derby, Kan.; one great-granddaughter, Katie Jorn of Derby, Kan.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with Dr. Brian Anderson and the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Jackson.
