ANNA, Ill. -- Dorothy Kirt, 62, of Anna died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at her home.

She was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of Paul and Edith Lacy Dillon. She married Don Kirt, who died May 6, 1998.

Kirt was head nurse in surgery at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill., many years. She later owned and operated Spanish Oaks Center, Cardinal House and Cardinal Manor.

She was a precinct committeewoman and was active in the Democratic Party. She was a member of the American Association of Operating Room Nurses.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Kirt of Jonesboro, Randy Kirt of Anna; a daughter, Dedria "Dee Dee" Blakely of Jonesboro; two brothers, Jack Dillon of O'Fallon, Mo., Robin Dillon of Anna; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Larry Gilbert and Marion Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
