Dorothy A. Kelley, 82, of Delta died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at her home.
She was born April 24, 1932, in Delta, to Albert A. and Frieda P. Allensworth Stoffregen. She and Carson Leon Kelley were married May 4, 1953, at Arbor.
Dorothy was a graduate of Delta High School. She and her husband owned and operated Kelley's Hardware in Delta. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta and the Delta Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and leaves many special memories of their playtime together. Many of Dorothy's passions involved the outdoors, spending happy times camping and swimming at the Castor River, taking great care of her variety of flowers throughout the yard, and delighted in sharing bulbs with many who admired them. She and Leon enjoyed going on walks, even into her final days.
Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 62 years, Carson Leon Kelley of Delta; three sons, Carson L. (Joan) Kelley Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Michael W. (Tina) Kelley and Albert Joseph "A.J." (Cindy) Kelley of Delta; three sisters, Evelyn Nussbaum of Delta, Barbara (Charlie) Swindell of Advance, Missouri, and Linda (Jack) McIntosh of East Prairie, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tasha (Daniel) Gaddy, Cain (Kelly) Kelley, Zachary (Alison) Kelley, Carson Kelley III and Trevor "T.J." Kelley; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Jo, Connor, Briar and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Fred, Bob and Albert A. "Nub" Stoffregen Jr.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Bob Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
