DALLAS — Dorothy Keesee Young was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Scott City and passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, in Dallas at the age of 90.
She was the daughter of Vester Earl Sr. and Ruby Carlton Keesee. She was raised a Mississippi River country girl.
She married Rudolph P. Young, and they enjoyed many years together, traveling the world and seeing many beautiful places. They were of the Catholic faith.
Upon graduation from high school, Dorothy moved to Dallas, where she worked and retired from Delta Air Lines.
Dorothy enjoyed classical music, loved God and loved her country, knowing freedom is never free! She always said, "In God we trust", and diligently did all she could to help protect our freedom for future generations.
She is survived by a niece, Cathy (Darrell) Hobbs; nephew, Kenny Keesee; and several great-nieces, -nephews and family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Vester "Sonny" (Edna) Keesee, and a niece, Karen (Joe) Garland.
A graveside service will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, and there will be a celebration of life later.
The family would like to thank Monticello West Assisted Living in Dallas, Holding Hands Hospice and her friend Nancy for all their compassion and care.
