Dorothy P. "Dottie" Jungers, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Nov. 27, 1932, at Bell City, Mo., daughter of Leonard Lester and Lynn May Jones Workman. She and John Joseph "Jack" Jungers were married March 27, 1954, in Cahokia, Ill. He died Sept. 26, 1991.
Mrs. Jungers was formerly of Scott City and Cahokia. She had been an admitting clerk at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen (Carol) Jungers of Collinsville, Ill., John Joseph (Barbara) Jungers Jr. of Cahokia, Kevin Jungers of Scott City; a daughter, Penny Jungers of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Eddie (Connie) Workman of Scott City; two sisters, June (Hubert) DeLay of Sikeston, Mo., Velda (Bill) Anderson of Morley, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Michael Jungers; a grandson, Jeffery Stephen Jungers; a brother, Sonny Workman; and a sister, Gail Pickett.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers will be at 5:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
