SIKESTON, Mo. -- Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Johnson, 90, of Sikeston died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to the late Wesley and Linda Macke Sander.
She was employed as a service technician at the Missouri Division of Employment Security in Sikeston for many years, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. On Dec. 17, 1949, she married Marion C. "Jack" Johnson, who preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1968.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lashmet of Sikeston, and one son, Stan Johnson of Gordonville; three grandchildren, Beth Biri, Jack Johnson and Kate Lashmet; and one great granddaughter, Isabella Biri.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
